Self-Worth

How much do you value yourself? With six figures? With six billion trillion figures?

Seriously though.

Do you wake everyday realizing that there’s a reason why there is only one of you (because you make the world infinitely richer!) or do you look at other people and value them higher than yourself?

If you’re like me, you’ll sometimes do the latter. I subconsciously say to myself; because you’re not a certain size and you’re not a part of that group over there you are somehow worth less. On clearer days like today, I realize that that is insane.

When you have everything cropped
“When you love what you have, you have everything you need”. My momma got this for me as a subtle reminder to not be so materialistic. Now I see it everyday when I wake up. When you love yourself, you can love other people in a totally new way so I’m learning to love myself. You should too!

Whatever your age, race, gender, size, education or background, you worth is impossible to determine. Your self-worth is defined by you and God’s love. God made you and is his creation flawed? Noooo. So no one else’s opinions, beliefs or attitudes can ever erode your value.

Similarly no position, status or possession (or exam grade) will ever make you worth more. You’re already priceless and nothing can top that.

So whenever you feel down because you haven’t achieved what you wanted. Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made.

Now go out there and enrich the world with the one and only you.

Psalm 139:14

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Lots of love, Abi x
